ABOUT VICTORIA NAA TAKIA NUNOO

Victoria Naa Takia Nunoo is a Ghanaian writer whose works have been published in various literary online magazines including the Kalahari Review, Brittle Paper, Afreada, Praxis Mag Online and Afridiaspora. She was a contributor to the Praxis ATF5 response chapbook, and to the anthology, ‘The Different Shades of a Feminine Mind’ – an African Women Writers Literary Project. In print, Victoria contributed to The Big Yellow Post, An Anthology on Gendered Violence. In 2017, she was featured in the Writers of the World Campaign, sponsored by Warren Adler.

She judged The Random Thoughts Creative Writing Prize in 2017, was a Panelist (Young Writers in Contemporary Fiction) at Pagya! A literary Festival in Ghana in 2017, and was a Facilitator for Writers’ Workshop, Ghanaian Languages Literary Festival in 2019.

Her poetry collection, Yellow Tulips, made the shortlist of the RL Poetry Award 2017. 

Brass Neck is her debut book of poems, and the winner of RL Poetry Award 2018, judged by Ukrainian-American Poet, Ilya Kaminsky. The book was also a finalist for the 2021 Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry.

Victoria is the founder of Ta Adesa; an online literary magazine, and Adesa Library; an intimate library, bookshop and bookclub in Accra.

She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree in Economics with Computing from Regent University College of Science and Technology, an Executive Certificate in Business Administration from Accra Business School, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Public Relations from the Ghana Institute of Journalism.
